Troubleshoot your iPhone: Charge, Restart, Reset, Erase & Reset

Troubleshoot your iPhone

Teknopedia - There are many reasons why you might be having problems with your iPhone. But before doing anything to fix the problem, you need to know what is causing the problem. Troubleshooting your iPhone is not as difficult as you might think. You may be surprised to learn that you can repair your iPhone yourself even if you are not a tech-savvy person.

A frozen iPhone is one of the most common Apple iPhone problems. This means your iPhone may not work as expected or not work at all. Here are some tips and tricks to fix your iPhone when it freezes or is having other issues.

Refillable. Make sure you charge your iPhone from a high-power USB port and not from a low-power USB port. Your keyboard's USB port (if you have one) has normal power consumption, so you can't use it to charge your iPhone. Only the high-power USB port charges your iPhone, or you can also use an iPhone power adapter. You can easily tell if your iPhone is not getting power to charge just by looking at the battery image. If you see the red part of the battery image flash three times and then the screen goes black, this is an indication that the iPhone is NOT charging.

If charging your iPhone doesn't solve your problem, try this.

restart. Make sure to restart your iPhone, but if your iPhone freezes or the app crashes, you'll need to delete the frozen app first before you can restart it. To unlock a locked app, press and hold the home button for about 6 seconds. You should be able to unblock the blocked program. Then restart your iPhone. To do this, hold down the sleep/wake button and wait for the red slider to appear. Slide your finger over the slider to turn off your iPhone. Wait at least 10 seconds before turning it back on. To turn on iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until YOU see the Apple logo.

If charging or restarting your iPhone doesn't solve your problem, try other solutions.

Reset to default. To do so, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a few seconds. The screen will clear quickly and you will see a black background and a white Apple logo. Ignore any other icons that may appear. It's important to wait for the Apple logo before releasing both buttons. The Apple logo indicates that the reset was successful.

But again, if charging, restarting, or resetting your iPhone doesn't solve the problem, you can also try other methods.

To remove. Most of the time, if the content is not syncing properly, your iPhone will not work as expected. This will take more than a reboot... Maybe & YOU delete the problematic content completely. You can try deleting some content such as contacts, calendars, songs, photos, videos, or podcasts. Such content can cause your iPhone to not sync properly. To do this, connect your iPhone to your computer and open the iTunes site. Change the sync options for each of the following categories: Contacts, Podcasts, Calendars, etc. In the Sources list, click iPhone, then select each button to change the synced content, then click "Use".

But if charging, restarting, restoring, or deleting content from your iPhone still doesn't solve the problem, try something else.

reset settings. There are two ways to reset your iPhone settings. First go to Settings then General, then Reset, then Reset All Settings. This will restore everything but will not delete any data or media. Second, go to Settings, select General, select Reset and select Erase All Content and Settings. Unfortunately, this will delete all your important files, folders, and content, so proceed with caution. You may want to back up all your content before trying this. The second method will restore your iPhone to the state it was in when you first bought it. Again, use the second option with caution.

If all the above tips don't work...YOU can try this option.

Recover. Find out how to restore your iPhone with the latest version of iTunes. Connect iPhone. When WILL appears in the resource list, click the Assemble tab
